Scientific Calculator
Authentic multi-function scientific calculator with natural display, DEG/RAD trigonometry, hyperbolic functions, logarithms, exponents, roots, factorials, memory registers, and calculation history.
How a scientific calculator works
A scientific calculator evaluates an expression by following the standard order of operations: parentheses first, then exponents and roots, then multiplication and division, and finally addition and subtraction. This calculator applies the same rules and returns results with up to 10 decimal places.
Trigonometric functions accept an angle in degrees or radians. Switch the angle mode at the top of the keypad: in Degrees mode, sin(30) returns 0.5; in Radians mode, sin(30) returns about -0.988 because 30 is interpreted as 30 radians.
You can mix functions freely, for example sin(45) + sqrt(2)/2 or 5! / (2*3). The percent operator converts a number to a hundredth, so 200 + 10% gives 210.
Common uses
Students use scientific calculators to check trigonometry homework, solve quadratic expressions and explore logarithms and factorials.
Engineers and analysts rely on them for quick conversions, exponent rules and evaluating formulas with constants such as pi and Euler's number e.
How to use this calculator
- Type your expression into the input box or tap the keypad buttons.
- Choose Degrees or Radians for trigonometry functions.
- Press the Calculate button (or the equals key).
- Read the result below; the expression and result are shown together for easy checking.
Pro tips
- Use parentheses to control grouping, for example (2+3)*4 instead of 2+3*4.
- The caret ^ means 'raised to the power of', so 2^10 equals 1024.
- Press C to clear the screen and the backspace key to remove the last digit.
Advantages & considerations
✅ Advantages
- Handles long mixed expressions in one step
- Degree and radian modes for trigonometry
