How does compounding frequency affect my FDR?
The more frequently interest is compounded, the more you earn. For the same rate and tenure, monthly compounding gives a higher maturity amount than annual compounding because interest starts earning interest sooner.
FDR Calculator FAQ
Can I break my FDR before maturity?▶
Yes, most banks allow premature withdrawal but at a reduced interest rate and possibly a penalty. Avoid breaking early unless necessary, as you lose most of the compounding benefit.
Should I choose FDR or DPS?▶
If you have a lump sum, FDR is a good fit. If you want to build savings from your monthly income, DPS is designed for that. Many savers use both for different goals.
